31/07/2001 I've been receiving emails for quite some time regarding a "Master Hacker" CD, which is a complete knock off of hackpalace. I've never seen it before and I do NOT publish it. No royalties of any kind were/are given to me. Considering that 99% of hackpalace's content isn't actually the work of a single individual, it's obviously wrong for someone to sell or distribute it at a profit. I'd sue Core Publishing if I could (and donate any money they'd give me, of course) but I don't have any means to. 16/10/2000 As you can see, hackpalace hasn't been updated in more than 6 months (the last news update doesn't usually mean the last archive update, so there). I just don't have the time to keep it up. I don't even have the time to answer your emails. I don't plan to take the site down, but I won't update it either. By the way, this is the first and hopefully last time I've used the blink tag. 16/02/2000, update #2 If you're accessing hackpalace from Brazil, you might want to check out this editorial (in Portuguese). 16/02/2000 I've removed the Patches and Tutorials sections. The Patches section was already too old because they regarded Windows 95 fixes. Most Windows users have Windows 98, which is not vulnerable to practically all nuke attacks. It also has the "Windows Update" feature one can use easily (although it's basically useless, for 90% of its fixes are for Internet Explorer, which you shouldn't be using in the first place). The tutorials section was kind of old, so I removed it. I moved all files from Tutorials/Programming to Programming/Tutorials, because they are worth reading. Perhaps I'll restore the Tutorials section some day, but right now I really don't have any plans to. There are on-line books and tutorials on a lot of subjects, so just look for them. Even after being online for 2 years and having 480mb of files, the site carries on growing. I find it impossible to maintain a high quality level and a wide range of subjects at the same time. This is why I let go of this section. |
